The second-hand marketplace Users Voice Frustration About Size Updates
Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
This online marketplace has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all users about the change.
Online Platforms Backlash
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category than originally posted as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.
Size Classification Modifications
Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.
For certain items, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Member Experiences
One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
A different member, from Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Required Changes
Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she stated.
Marketplace Information
The service features exceeding 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options after backlash from users.
